You should always calculate your mpg as the onboard system is not always accurate.

I've only had my 2017 since mid December but I'm finding with warmer weather I'm getting a solid +2 MPG over what I was averaging in winter. My combined city / highway driving which includes prob. 70-80% rural 50 and under driving is now averaging 30.7 with very little AC use and 93 octane top tier fuel. This car blows my old 2016 Rav4 in the weeds for both mileage and power! Loving this car so far!

I drive moderately for the most part, but use it when I need it. Typically within 5 over the limit, but thanks for the insult. Ever heard of towing? You will sure notice the power difference when towing a couple thousand pounds behind you! You act like under normal driving conditions one cannot tell the difference between 178hp and 308hp? Weird post.
Dude, I wasn’t trying to insult you! My apologies if that’s how it sounded. This vehicle is simply not set up to “feel power” & get fantastic mpg at the same time. It’s apples & oranges. Yes, I do tow with mine & it’s not great at all. There is enough power, but the suspension will not handle what the car’s rated to tow (3500 lbs). Is the 450h a good car? Probably for most people. Mine hasn’t been stellar - lots & lots of small annoyances from a car that’s advertised as the pursuit of perfection. I expected a lot more.
Please keep in mind that we both live in very different geographical areas. We don’t have anything rural here where one can “safely” drive at 50 mph or below. We have two extremes here: city, where we drive under 30 - 40 mph mostly & highway, where the speed limits are 70,75 & 80 mph. It’s relatively flat & wide open (except for the Hill Country). If we tried to drive at 50 mph here, we would be either be run over or causing a traffic hazard by driving too slow.

Keep it in context please. I was comparing the car to a 4cyl. Rav4. Of course I can still feel the power and get great mileage! I don't have stab the pedal from every light to feel and appreciate the huge difference in power. Hills, towing, or onramps are enough of a reminder the difference. And believe it or not, I still remember it the next day while driving moderately like any grandma would.
I don't know if you are western or eastern WA, but if you are western WA or Puget Sound area then we know driving "50 and under" isn't really a choice but something forced on us due to the constant traffic.

That's why I gave up on sports sedans for a while - it was just a romantic notion that I'd be able to enjoy "spirited driving" when in reality 99.9% of what I did was sit in bumper to bumper traffic going 25-45 mph.
We are getting similar results, my 2016 returns 30-31 MPG in the summer when we get off winter gas. And I think the 450h has adequate power to get most driving jobs done. I can pass with confidence and get going on highways just fine. I think the extra boost from the electric motor helps a lot.

LOL...Yep, western Wa. near Black Diamond. My commute is rural country roads to Kent Valley so I don't mess with the freeways much because they are such a mess anyways. That was one reason I went to a hybrid as they shine best in my exact driving conditions that I drive the most.

But even on freeway driving I've found the best way to drive is get up to speed quickly and then cruise at your desired speed. The car gives me great mpgs even at 75 to 80 mph.

However, I log each refueling (I always fill until the pump clicks off, then remove the nozzle). You can use a free app for iPhone/Android like Road Trip Lite or Fuelly to enter your data to calculate your MPG.
So far, after 2,300 miles, my calculated MPG is almost 1 MPG higher than the car displays.
As always, YMMV.
When I took delivery of my 2021 450h, I reset Trip 1. I haven't reset it since. I'm guessing that's the only way to get the car to display lifetime estimated MPG.

I think he has issues with anyone liking this car looking at his other posts.
