Exclamation Peculiar behaviour when ls600h is left on acc

Any ls600hl owner experienced this? --> When the car is left on acc for a while (all electrics system online without the engine running - or if the car is started with radio only then shut off a few time) the parking sensor suddenly start beeping non stop. If you shut down the car then the steering wheel won't go back into neutral position. If you try to start the car (along the engine) the car does a kind a "air deflating" sound and won't start (don't seems to be the suspension thought). Then the light on the Mark Levinson radio start flashing intermittently and a warning about the SRS is showing telling you to go to the dealer to have the car inspected. If you wait a few minutes and start the car again it will then start normally without problems and won't display the SRS warning anymore. This is my second 2008 ls600hl with the executive trim and both did this so this seems to be some kind of design flawn.

Sounds like you may be draining the battery by leaving it in the ACC position. Then the electronics go haywire. Once the car starts and charges the battery...all is good!

If it does this when you "leave" it in the ACC position...DON'T leave it in the ACC position!

That's what I originally thought, but you'd think that the car would handle it in a more graceful manner than this, lol. First time it happened to me when while I was trying the massage seat in my garage. I didn't want to start the car and get kill by carbon monoxide

Good point on the carbon monoxide poisoning. The cool thing about a LS600 is that it cycles off the engine, however, you DONT want it cycling in a closed garage.

I never leave it in ACC I just turn it on and let the hybrid turn itself off, after my battery drained once.

I had mine in ACC once and after about 30 min, it shut itself off. My battery is good still. I guess its a safety precaution so the battery doesn't die.

Van, where are you living? It sounds like you may have a non US car. We know at least in the case of the 460, they aren't quite set up the same as cars shipped to the US.

Montreal south shore, but I bought the car in Ontario. My fist ls600 was bought in Montreal. Both were non US model (Canadian - tachometer in KM instead of miles). Both had this issue. First time it happened to me on my previous car I managed to start it and drive but the mark levinson unit light kept flashing and I couldn't operate it properly (wouldn't play music). When I shut the car down and start it again the problem vanished. Can you point me at the similar case for a 460 that was discussed before ? Thanks

Needed to come back and update my previous reply. As my 12v trunk (starter) battery began to go out..I had all kinds of issues and warnings. Got a replacement for about $315 via my mechanic who used his shop status to get a genuine OEM replacement battery and now I can run in ACC again if needed without the Christmas tree lights on my dash
