Default Rear heated/ventilated seats

I just found two buttons on the back of the center console that look like on/off switches for heat/cool for the rear seats in my 450h. I did not know this existed for the RX since the online specs did not mention it. I have not tried it yet since I just got the vehicle. Can someone confirm this feature?

nope, not even a possible option on the RX.

If they are on the back of the center console under the rear vents, then it is either a 120V outlet (like a house wall plug) or it is the volume adjustments for your rear seat entertainment system if equipped.

I thought so too, but have a look at the picture. When I pushed the top half of the button, there is a red/orange light comes one, and when I pushed the bottom half, a green light comes on. Perhaps these are custom installation?

Thanks for the photo. It does look like heated rear seats. Probably an option for Canada but not here in the U.S. There should be something in your manual for those. Have you called your dealer ???

!!! I dont think that is OEM. It cant be from Lexus, I have never heard of this option at all so I am curious. Did you try turning it on and seeing it the rear seats get heated?

I quickly looked at the Manual and the internet reviews and found nothing on it, so I posted the question here. I will ask my wife to try it today when we go out. The dealer would be my last resource.
I am totally in love with this RX so far, the only wish I have is a pair of rear sliding doors, so I won't have to worry about the passengers putting dings on other cars in parking lots (or its future garage mate) .

Like RXSF said we've never heard of them here in the rear seats. And I'm thinking if the 'were' factory, they would have the same tan color (matching the interior) as the other switches. And if they indeed are 'not' factory then I'd have personal issues about using something requiring that much power that's aftermarket. Who knows how well it's wired in and what damage it may/could do to the system not to mention the seats themselves.

Did a Google search for aftermarket seat warmers and all the switches look just like the ones in your photos. Apparently the green light is low heat and the red light is high heat.

Well, I guess it is an aftermarket item. This RX is an CPO, so I am going to go back to the dealer to have them stated on the invoice that the car came with it just in case there is an issue.
Thanks everyone for the clarification.

That can't be OEM, doesn't match the rest of the car.
My guess, it will work like my bathroom's radiant floor heating.

I emailed the sales rep about the bonus feature. He responded "yes, quite a few RX customers have these seat warmers installed, and they don't affect Lexus warranty".
My wife tried the high heat setting and she said it got pretty hot after a while.

I wonder how they were installed. Seems like a lot of work if they had to remove the seat and install the heating pad into the foam cushion.
