Default Triple LED's headlights

I've converted my turning lights to parking/turning lights.
Car:
2010 RX450h w/ LED headlights.
Bulb used:
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...-p7472048.html

This is very easy to do, all you need are some wires(I used 16gauge), wire tap connectors, electric tape, soldering iron, and some basic hand tool.

First you will need to open the hood, remove all the plastic covers.
Now you will have access to the truning lights.
Removed the housing and you will find three holes, with two wires attached, Ground, and + for turning light.

All you will need is to attach a wire to the third hole and solder it to the connector. Then you will tap the other end with your parking light + wire.

Put in the new LED bulb, and test the light.

Also, I replaced the flasher relay with a LED one. This can be located under the steering wheel.

+1 on what RXSF said. that looks really good!

some questions/comments on the install:
- i'm wondering if a less bright LED bulb (say 4300-4500K) would better match with the oem led headlamps in terms of color. it seems that the 5K led bulb you used appears more white than your oem led headlamp?
- how loud is the LED flasher relay compared to the stock one?
- are you able to take a picture of the wire going through the 3rd hole and attached to the connector? a picture is worth a thousand words here!
- i don't know if this is possible or even doable, but i thought maybe someone can shed some light if i'm wrong - is it possible to put the oem led bulb in that turning location in order to color match the existing oem led headlamp bulbs?
- this is one mod i've seen that i actually may consider doing, thx for sharing and letting us see your results!

The bottom one is 6000k LED, has a little blue tint. I am still looking for a bright 5000k LED. the turning lights are perfect match, but not as bright as the headlight.

It is little bit quieter than the stock one.

I tried, couldn't take a good picture with the tiny area. Will try again in a sunny day.

I haved checked the service manual, our LED headlight is not a bulb, it is on a circuit board.

Happy on sharing.

Looks good but would be better with a 5K like you mentioned.
Are you thinking of going with VLEDs 28 5K LED for the fogs to get rid of the yellow?

Right now I have the 3000k HID for the fog. Not looking to change that.

A lot more light output with the HIDs over the aesthetic look of the LEDs.

I think V-LED sells a "warm" white LED which is closer to matching the LED headlamps.

It seems you have "cool" white.

Default Triple LED headlight replacement

Hi Does anyone know what other headlights I could use as a replacement to the triple LED’s? Damaged my old passenger side and looking for a simple good looking swap out that’s not going to cost me over £1k. Thanks in advance 😎🙏

Welcome to CL. A few pointers.
Your UK RX has the rare LED option and not many of the US models had the LED headlamps. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/hyb...-you-have.html

When making these requests you should mention your model year.
They may be expensive to replace and hard to find. Maybe there are used ones on eBay or wrecking yards.
You may want to talk to a few auto body shops about getting or recommending replacement headlight lenses as they replace them all time performing accident damage repairs.
You may want to make this a new thread instead of trying to revive an ancient thread as many of those folks may not be active any longer.

It may not be cost effective as you would need 2 unless you want yours to look like Admiral Horatio Nelson [apologies in advance for a bad British joke]

Great job indeed.
Do you know is it possible to clean the front light plastic cover, seems the problem is from inside for some reason? I tried a cleaning kit for the cover outside but the plastic seems inside needs a treatment, or it needs only a replacement? Any input highly appreciated

The outside is UV breaking down the clear coat on the plastic surface. The reflector inside the lens to project the light outside also increases the uv as the sun light gets reflected [double whammy]. one can feel the outside roughness in the plastic and if you wet it [or even apply wd40] it clears up as long as the wetness is there.

The inside issue is typical corrosion and deposition due to compromised seal [either the seam or at the bulb]. But once the moisture starts eating the reflector chrome, it's time to trash it. In older vehicles people have opened up the seam and cleaned it inside and resealed the plastic. I have not come across any post which describe this process for RX. There are cheap enough aftermarket or salvage yard replacement options that are viable than repair possibility.
