Default tapping footwell lights..

So today I ran into an odd problem, in an attempt to tap into the footwell lights in my 2012 is250 to add the front GS OEM door cup lights, the result was that my new lights and the footwell lights stay on all the time even when the car is off.. 🤔

any idea as why that might happen?

I simply tapped the wires in the footwell that directly go to the light. now they don't dim or go off.

I didn't add anything else or cross any wires..

thanks

I can't remember the foot well LED light that well ... Does the problem go away when you disconnect the taps? Also, are you only tapping directly to the foot well light power that goes to the LED bulb containing 2 wires?
