Ordering RX450h - Dealer Communication
I ordered an RX450h at the end of April and the dealer said to expect it in August. So far, I haven't received any information from the dealer. I emailed him about 2 weeks ago asking for an update and he said that he hadn't heard anything from Japan.
I signed a purchase order agreement and gave him my credit card number for the deposit but they haven't hit my credit card yet.
I thought Lexus had a pretty good order tracking system. For those who ordered their RX, how frequent and how much information was provided by the dealer while your were waiting.

I ordered mine July 18 - comfort, premium, nav packages. When I called on July 27, I was told by my sales guy that it's on the boat and expected in port on August 7. He should get it a few days later - same state as the port. He gave me the VIN too. All it takes is a few keystrokes.
Did you order it with packages not typically found in your area? That might be the holdup. You can ssk them if they can do a dealer swap. Otherwise you might want to find another dealer, sorry to say.

Anita: are you in NJ and the port is NJ?
i would bet that it was already built when you placed your order and your dealer was able to snare this specific one.

Still, four months is too long for a non-nav RX. I would check the Edmunds website to see what's available in your area. Then I'd get on your dealer's butt until they give you an answer. Good luck
