Alarm Goes Off
Hi Folks,
Question here. While driving maybe 45 min. an alarm goes off and keeps activating for about 3 min. than shuts off. Drivers info center shows/indicates nothing wrong and rest of gauges also appear normal with no visible icons showing. Any ideas?? HS has about 32K on it and at 30K check-up it passed with flying colors.

Hi Airman,
No navigation, base HS250. Alarm is steady and temperature when it happens is -10 degrees here in Wisconsin. Called Lexus dealer and they have no clue. Nothing displays in menu window nor any icons anywhere else on instrument cluster. The 'beep' which is steady just sounds off for about three minutes, and than stops and you here it no longer.

Keep us posted on what you find. Cars do weird things when the temp is that low, as you probably well know living in Wisconsin.

I don't own this model but I have a RX350 F sport..I'm in Michigan and the last few days it's been -35 wind chill and over 1 1/2' of snow. I've been getting the collision alarm going off for a minute or so upon startup and driving. I just put this down as having snow banks around the vehicle and on the bumpers. By Friday it is going to be around 32 degrees out so I'm going to the local car wash and spraying the vehicle...I'm 99.9% positive this will solve the problem.

Thanks for responses guys/gals. My wife hasn't heard 'alarm' for a few days. I know it's not 'collision' alarm for I don't have navigation/collision on vehicle. I'm thinking along the lines of what Browninggo mentioned above. We've had several days where temps been in the teens below zero and not much warmer after sunup. I guess that traveling at 65+mph as my wife does, that the incoming air over engine compartment must be double if not triple of what it actually is. Called my service writer at dealership and we figure that it might be some sensor in the electrical system that freezes up, and when wife backs off accelerator engine heat frees it up......no alarm. Time will tell.
