#Rust
yes I have seen that solution, but for that I need the car lifted; possibly pay someone to do it. I think I can wait couple of years and then get it address or should be taken care of right away?
I will try to post some pics of the spots.
thanks

I did my brakes yesterday / just the fronts rotors pads/rotors, I got the car last year and its sitting at 30k miles now, its a 2015. Well when I took the wheels out I realized there were some rust spots that are just forming under the car at some areas.
Anyways I was looking for maybe a spray or something that I can just put on and it does not get worse. Its not at a point where anything needs to be sanded and sprayed over.
Back in the old days I have seen people put used oil in the areas, not sure if that's recommended. I cam across Griot's Garage 11221 Rust Remover Gel ; as an option but wanted to check here on what you guys have done to address it.
thanks!

I took my 2014 IS 350 F Sport into Ziebart. They found huge areas of rust and corrosion. After sanding down the rust, they put a coating to protect the car. My point, rust spreads quickly and what is done to protect our cars at the factory has severe limitations. My 04 INFINITI rusted out completely in 13 years, so it's not just Lexus. My neighbor took his Lexus SUV in and is asking for a completely new car due to the severity of the rust in the door panels and beneath the car.
On my first oil change outside of the dealer, I noticed some areas underneath starting to rust. I try to do multiple undercarriage cleanings during the winter, but it seems some areas are more prone to rusting. (Underneath where the skids are.) The oil drain bolt was fairly weathered and the oil pan skid started to develop a rust ring all around. The metal wire mesh on the front skid has turned from black to surface rust.
I plan to remove the skids, metal wire brush the rust, pressure wash, then spray some rustoleum rust stopper underneath.
Has as anyone worked with POR15 or Fluid film? I should have done this during the first year before winter....
I’ll try to snap some pictures this weekend, but how’s everyones truck holding up?

Surface rust is expected on ALL vehicles. You can try to fix it/coat it/etc. But it will return. And you will likely move onto another vehicle before the surface rust becomes significant to affect integrity. My old G-wagen had some surface rust and that frame was dipped in hot wax at the factory!

Look at ACF-50 ... developed for the military for use on aircraft carriers to protect aircraft from (salt-air) corrosion. This product is raved in Europe by the motorcycling community where year-round commuting is common under wet weather conditions ... with motorcycles having many areas that trap moisture, creating localized areas of corrosion. Comes in a spray can and other containers for applying on large areas. For my use, this is the nuclear version of WD-40 from a surface protection standpoint. Link to product web site ...

We live in Portland, OR. We seldom get snow, and when we get it the local authorities publish the routes on which they put salt (NaCL). As far as I know our truck has never been on a salt-infested road. Underneath, I see some slight surface rust on bolts, certain metal parts of bushings, etc. I was pretty surprised when I looked at it, given reports of these trucks being rather badly affected by rust.
I am taking it to the Alvord and Black Rock deserts in a few weeks. It will be interesting to see where and how much fine desert playa dust accumulates on the undercarriage. This stuff is not salty, but I suppose I will be seeking out local car washes or services who might clean the undercarriage after I return.
