Naviks, is junk you got to connect multiple modules together. Get NavTool, NavTool CarPlay is all in one interface and its made in USA

NavTool is joystick based too though. I'm going to RMA the Naviks, but I've ordered the Grom -- reports from the version 2 suggest Carpay is pretty stable and touchscreen-based. If that doesn't work out, I'll switch to the NavTool.

Very interested in GROM as one of the few options for '10-'13 models.

GROM install attempt failed. Had a shop that's listed on the Grom site do it. The system just wouldn't work. The installer called Grom support who told them the GX 460 isn't supported because it doesn't have a joystick.

Guess it's time for Navplay.

Apparently it's a bug on the Grom website. If you browse with your mobile phone (which I did) it says GX 460 is supported, but their rep says "not supported yet". I'm asking them to refund my installation fees as well. I really don't want a joystick carplay solution so I'm either going to just mirror for now or wait for Grom or someone else to support touchscreen.

Thanks for testing this.

Forwarded this thread and GROM claims '10-'13 w/nav should be fine. I asked them about '15 again. I assume yours has nav.

Yeah, mine has nav. Not sure the headunit difference between '13-'15. If they start selling one for the '15, I'll buy it again (though it would have been nice if they offered to pay my cost for the failed install).

Default Possible new Android/Carplay option

Randomly saw this on aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Andr...839646985.html

It claims to work for 2010-2018 460's, which seems odd given different head units. I'm also unclear about some of the components they display "touch part" and "key switch" etc. But they have a video of the unit running on a '15 w/ nav. Response time looks decent. Wish they showed the carplay module in action, as that's my big priority. Not cheap.

Saw that one late last year... I'd search for thread but something is up with search on the site and you can only go back about 1-2 weeks.

Do you recall if anyone tried it out? I'm deciding whether or not to give it a shot.

I plan on using a AC vent mount and just mount my iPhone there.
