The modules for the '22 and up models will cause the alarm to go off if you let it run ten minutes and the remote start timer expires. There's no way around that but, as others have mentioned, the alarm can be turned off from the key fob if you are close enough. I don't care about this, but if you do, the mirror folding modules may not be a great choice.

As far as I know, all Toyota/Lexus models that are remotely started will behave the same way. I know it was true of our '13 RX and my '23GX, and has been the case for every Toyota rental I've tested.

Default Automatic Fold in Mirrors

Purchased 2023 GX460 Luxury model in October. Traded in my 2012 which was a great car. I assumed fold in side mirrors would be on the car. To my surprise, no. I’ve read (and watched on YouTube) about a plug in you can purchased and install yourself for about $25 and takes less than a minute. Has anyone done this? Does it mess up anything? Does it work with putting hand on door handle to lock/unlock? The YouTube video only showed using the remote. I don’t want to do anything to mess us the diagnostic stuff or warranty. Thanks

Default Question

My 2023 GX460 Luxury has manual button for side mirrors but not automatic (which was a disappointment). Saw YouTube on this product
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/22518...2usa4itemAdapt

Question:
Would putting this on mess up any diagnostic stuff or warranty? Thanks
Just read about horn/alarm issues when using app to remote start. Any other issues?

Two ways to accomplish the folding mirrors that I know of:
  1. Make an appt at the stealership and pay them X ( i think 100) sum of money and they can program your mirrors, no plug needed.
  2. I did this one, buy the plug, insert it into your ODB port and viola...folding mirrors

Anyone have a diagram / installation instructions on how to install morotized folding mirrors. I did some research on parts buut I do not know what else is needed. So I have 2018 GX Base model with non-mororized mirrors right now.

I bought these parts and modules:
Motorized mirrors instead of my current model 87940-60P50 / 87910-60P50

87910-60P80 RH - With power folding. With BSM. With camera. Without multi-terrain cam.
87940-60P80 LH - With power folding. With BSM. With camera. Without multi-terrain cam.

COMPUTER ASSEMBLY, OUTER MIRROR CONTROL:

8943060110 LH
8943060100 RH

MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH: (POWER)
84872-60070

Do I need anyother parts/harness etc? How does mirror montrol module is connected inside the door and where is the extra harness that connects to Mirror control switch?
Thank a lot!

P.S. Also have TechStream software for programming.

I got that from Aliexpress and installed mine over the weekend. It works great and have had no issues encountered by using it.

Is there an option on the folding mirror to not always have it close... on our Tahoe... if you click lock all the doors lock, if you double click lock doors lock and mirrors close and the same to open. This way you can save having to always close your mirrors and use the motor.... (Parking in driveway vs. street doesn't always need mirrors closed).

I wonder if you did option #1, and got the remote starter mod, if the alarm would still go off after 10 minutes of the vehicle running.
Anybody know? I feel like since it's done by the dealer it shouldn't conflict with the remote start.

I really want to have auto folding mirrors & remote start since I live in cold climate, but so far my research has shown this isn't possible.

Would love to know if someone has found a way around this.

I know this is an old thread, but I have the same question as above.
  1. Does anyone know if there a way to disable the automatic folding with this module installed?
  2. Also, I saw one Amazon review that said their rear hatch door lock/unlock buttons stopped working when they installed this. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Have been using mine for over a year on my 2023 with no problems. I have had no problems with my rear door lock/unlock buttons as I'm pretty sure this unit has nothing to do with the lock/unlock. I didn't buy mine from Amazon though so not sure if it is the same unit. I bought mine on aliexpress and it has worked flawless.

I appreciate the info! This gives me hope. I went ahead and ordered the "Forten Kingdom" unit from Amazon for my 2022 GX460. It should arrive this weekend, so I'll be able to confirm if it works as described.
