The guy at the store made it sound like they did not have the ability to bypass it. I’m sure if someone really wanted to bypass it there’s probably a way, but I personally didn’t have the desire or appetite to pursue that.

We doing them all the time. Lexus, Infinity, GMC Denalis...
is a little more expensive because of the bypass.
we are not hooking up direct to the ignition harness starter wire. Everything now a dys is done thru the BCM module.
the bypass is in communication with the BCM.
I'm charging around $425 for remote starter.
i will do my wife's truck this up conking year.
i work with DEI products Viper, Automate, Avital...

I believe back in 2011 it was different. No Enform required for regular remote start.

Yeah I hear you. It is sad that cheaper cars get the goodies while luxury owners have to pay annual fees.

Do I have to pay to use my remote to Lock and Unlock the car?
I agree, seems like a simple request for a luxury brand. I don’t need the perks of an app so just offer the simple start option at no charge from the fob. If you want the app perks a fee is understandable.

My 16 GMC Yukon XL has the app and starter for 5 years free from factory.
If we are not mistaken. Both system are pretty much the same. Meaning everything gets done thru the BCM so is not really a remote starter involved.
We been asking around for a programmer. We believe he is the one that turn this feature ON or Off.
thats how Enform is doing right?

So let's see, I have a $52k 2016 RX350, that I can't use a factory installed remote start without an app that only worked 50% of the time during my first trial year? You want me to pay for a service that only worked part of the time? I'm not sure I would either promote buying a Lexus or will continue when my lease is up. I'm tired of being laughed by those with less expensive vehicles that have these options included for free. I work in a mfg. environment and if we sold our product to our customers and it didn't work, they wouldn't come back or will easily be swayed by our competitors. It's called competitive advantage and Lexus' competition can use this as a selling feature. Pay to have the Navigation system updated, pay to use remote start? Really?

brian4l - you have the RES - Remote Engine Start that was a $500 port or dealer installed
option for the 2010 and newer Lexi. Should work nicely for free forever!

I just know that (1) I have not subscribed to Enform and (2) the car does not start with the fob procedure of press lock 2x and hold down on 3rd time. Don't know if I have RES or not or how would I find out if I did. Thanks.

Enform Remote Start only avail. for 2017+ GX460.

Have a 2-way CompuStart in my '15 GX (No Enform Remote Start), installed by the dealer (they contract it out to local shop but give you full warranty as new car). Its range is long...3000ft or so. The 2-way communication will tell you the status of your car (engine's running, doors are locked/unlocked). The cost ranges from $500-$600.

Now - if the Enform Remote Start costs $8/month or $80/year (2018+ Lexus - hopefully Lexus will cover all years) then get it because it will take you about 7 years to recoup the initial cost if you go with the aftermarket remote starter.

But if the Enform Remote Start cost $160/year (with safety connect included) then...Is it worth? Your call here.
