Yeah that is really unfortunate. A simple feature and Lexus is trying to squeeze money out of it. Suck of them.
However, for the I wish remote start can be set to turn on AC or Heat base on the outside temperature.

We have days where it was warm during the day and cold at night so I had AC on the drive home and didn't turn if off and I auto-started the car in the morning and the AC was running when I got it made a very cold morning ride. LOL

Lightbulb Discovered Remote Start via Keyfob - '19 GX460

Good evening fellas,

As we all know, Lexus switched over to Lexus Enform Remote in 2015 on the GX460. Well, I just discovered that I can remote start my '19 GX460 from the keyfob. Note, I don't have any stickers on the windows or under the hood. Thoughts?

This is one option I hope i don't have if I don't know about it. I would hate to have my kids playing with my keys or having it in my pocket while the car is in the garage.

This option has always been there in 2016+. The remote start via keyfob only works with active Enform Remote subscription. Once the subscription expires after 1 yr (free) the keyfob start will go away as well. I've not found a way to get it work without Enform.

I thought it took quite a bit longer to start than mine does.

Mine is relatively quick to start after that third button press.

Lexus Safety Connect started with the 2010 models, complimentary for 12 month then $149/year
Lexus Remote Start debuted in the GX460's in 2016, also comp for the year and then $149 for SC + $100 for RS = $249/year ($349 if you wanted the Destination Assist also)
Lexus Safety Connect and Remote Start and Destination Assist all got lower costs in late 2017 to $80/yr. each so now RS is only $160/yr. ($240 if SC + RS + DA)
Starting with the 2018 model year all Lexus get the Safety Connect (and Service Connect) comp for 120 months, 10 years!
Remote Start and Destination Assist are still free for the 12 month trial but are now only $80/yr. each because the connective SC is free for 10 years.

Yes, the enform version is really slow on 3rd press. Almost 15 seconds after 3rd press.

I didn't know mine had it either. I just tried and it worked!
The only thing was the engine turned off as soon as I opened the door. Wasn't sure if I did something wrong.

That is "as designed" behavior

I have it on mine as well, and I don't have Enform subscription. It's also described in the owners manual, so i assumed that it comes with it regardless of any enform subscriptions.

its unknown to be honest. Many folks state that once you are no longer a subscriber it turns off after a grace period, others say it never goes away. I have yet to see a TIS document pointing to exactly how remote start works depending on the status of enform

You likely have the non subscription based local remote start available on 10-15 models
