Has anyone used the inform remote start from there cell phone and had the check engine light come on?

 

havent had the problem yet. but i read someone else used it quite often and got the check engine light on. different thread in this forum.

 

Funny I tried it this morning and it worked either way I have and appointment at Lexus tomorrow so they can check! I'm going to look for that post you mention if you remember the title of that posting let me know.

I am trying the same for last couple weeks and it keeps showing me THS168 Unable to Process. Contact Dealer

Enform analyst told me that it's Hardware issue, I visited Dealer - As per Dealer this is the issue with Enform App

Strange - Lock/Unlock/Status/Finder works fine - Just Start/Stop doesn't work

 

What model year is each of your GXs?

 

GX 460 2016 with Premium Package

 

I have the same 2016 GX460 Premium. Ok went to Lexus today spoke with service guy he stated that they had a meeting last night in regard to inform remote start and that the problem is with the app! Also he stated once you turn on truck with remote start let it run for the ten minutes then get in and drive and you should not get the check engine light as per him I have been doing it for days and have not had the error again!

 

Have you been able to resolve the remote start problem? I've had my IS 350 F Sport for over a year with the same problem. Between the dealer and enform services they are at a loss as to why all of the enform remote functions work except the remote start..

 

I have not had the problem again what I've been doing is if I start the car with the inform remote I either let it finish and turn off or I use the inform remote start to turn it off I don't just go open the door while the truck is running! And I have not had the problem ever again also there has been and update for the app too.But just do what I have been doing and you should be fine pal

 

Does the enform suite enable 16 GXs to have remote start via the app or the keyfob?

 

App... and it sucks. Picked mine up almost two weeks ago. Remote start works about half the time. Requires you to enter the pin multiple times to perform a single action. Ugh.

 

any tries with the fob?

 

As I understand it the only remote start is via Enform. My FOB only has lock, unlock, open glass, and emergency buttons. I don't see any instructions in the manual to start from the FOB. The dealer only instructed me on remote starting with the app.

 

Give this a try with the remote, push lock 2 times and then hold lock for 2-3 seconds a 3rd time and it may start. If it does the same steps will also shut off the vehicle. The only issue is that you have to be close enough for the fob to work the door locks.
