I am currently looking at getting a 2014 or 2015 GX460. One thing that is worrying me is the leaning issue I’ve read about. Is there a reliable fix for this yet? Or is it something you just have to deal with?
If you are not lifted or planning on lifting, I wouldn't worry about lean. But yeah, it can easily be remedied at home, do a search on google and you can find the write up.
Mine leans about an inch lower on the right side (sometimes). I started realizing it has to do on where we park and what kind of turn or hill you came up/down. Our garage entrance is on a slope so for the longest time I thought it was the car but it seems to be that it is not leveling immediately after pulling in. I have been checking it everywhere else and it seems to be ok unless you pull in turning left shifting the weight to the right.
My next step will be calibrating the KDSS to see if there is improvement but really it has become more of a nuisance rather than a real problem.
After a little research I found a fix, well at it least it worked for me.
I have a 2011 Premium with air suspension and I'm not sure if this will work with out the air suspension.
It involves adjusting the height sensor bracket. The sensor live in front of the rear axle right next to the airbags and bolts into the frame.
You'll need:
2 10mm washers (I took me longer to find the washers than to put them in)
10 mm socket and ratchet
Only add the washers to side that leans
This is what it looks like when you under the truck. No need the jack up the truck I just crawled under there and took off the bracket and added the washers.
I added the washer between the frame and the height sensor bracket
It took maybe 5 minutes to finish.
I started the truck but I still saw a lean to the right (passenger side from the back) , but I was to lazy to remove the washers.
The next day after I drove to work and parked and walked around to the back of the truck and to my surprise the back of the truck was level
I've been checking it out everyday since and everything looks great. It was leaning by an 1 inch or so to the right in the back before the I added the washers.
What kind of washers did you use? The ones in the picture seems thicker than normal ones... Did you just pick a set up from a hardware store?
After today's wash - I realized looking at the car in the driveway, it leans pretty bad (to its right). I know my driveway isn't leveled - but just looking at the pictures, it seems pretty obvious. I thought this issue was long resolved (my GX is built 07/18 w/no air suspension).
Here are a couple of pics - what do you guys thing?
I just bought a 2019 Premium. I was originally concerned about it eventually leaning to the left because of the fuel tank and KDSS units being on the left side of the vehicle. A slight lean to the right, even with a full tank of fuel wouldn't bother me at all. So far, mine is level.
The only way to know for sure is take a tape measurement and measure the distance between center of wheel cap to the wheel arch. But most lean issues are on vehicles with air suspension.

my 2018 leans to the right as well. No air suspension. I read it’s the KDSS system. Confirmed with tape measure.
Maybe its mental? My steering wheel isnt straight and sometimes I notice it leaning and only on the passenger side and going around a turn, there are definitely more body roll on the passenger side if that makes any sense. I hope its not the tire pressure again, as that would be embarrassing.
I've seen a service bulletin for older vehicles with KDSS. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...62379-2273.pdf
Not sure if there's others. The other day, I noticed mine was leaning when I aimed some lights, and I thought about the KDSS. I opened the passenger door, bounced on the footboard, and lean gone.
