'05 GX Side mirror not returning to position
Hi all,
I recently started experiencing a situation in which my passenger side mirror does not return to its original position after shifting from reverse to park/drive. When shifting into reverse my mirror dips as expected, however, upon shifting back to drive or park the mirror stays dipped. The motor appears to be fine since I can adjust the mirror up to its original position manually. Any thoughts on what's going on?
Thanks!

I've seen multiple threads from people with various Lexus vehicles who had the same issue, and, in most cases, the cause of the problem was that they had accidentally and without knowing that they had done so changed the mirror position either when it was in the normal position or in the reverse position.
If that is what happened in your case, the following steps should correct the problem. First, with the car running and the transmission in park, set the mirror to the normal position that you want. Then, shift the transmission into reverse (and, obviously, keep your foot on the brake), and, then, set the mirror to the position that you want it to be in when in reverse. Then, check to see if that solved the problem. If it didn't, something else is the cause of the problem.
See this thread on the ES forum about a similar problem.
