Default Weird problem with pass side side view mirror

I noticed it seemed as if I had to reset the passenger side mirror a few times too many so I finally stopped and watched what was going on. What seems to be going on is if I have them set to tilt down in reverse, that side will tilt as it should, but then once back in D, it doesn't come all of the way back up. If I do this a few times, it comes back up a little less each time until it barely comes back up at all, now basically tilted down all the way as if in the reverse position. So for now I just have it set in the ideal position and have the tilt in reverse feature turned off so neither moves and it stays in position fine, but it means I can't use the feature if I need to.

Anyone ever see that happen before?

Yes, fairly common malady for many Lexus including the GX. If my service writer was truthful, there's a motor in the mirror and a sensor / ECU that controls it i had mine fixed under warranty. Good luck!

An easy DIY, replace the servo motor, cost of part around 125?? I did it a few years ago, took all,of 15 mins. Part came with excellent instructions. Mirror just pops out of its clips and the assembly is right there, couple of screws and a plug
