Side Mirror ~ Stuck after Reversing
As most know, when you reverse your car, your side mirrors rotate downwards. Well, few days ago, when I reversed out of my drive way and drove off, the driver's side mirror never rotated to its original position.
This happens intermittently and wanted to see if others were experiencing the same problem.

you need new motors in your mirrors... i had to get both of mine replaced within one week... first the driver's side went out then one week later the passenger side went out... both replaced under warranty...
guys, report this problem to lexus HQ.
maybe they'll come out with a better fix. I have a feeling that the replacement will also break within 2 years.
Is the mirror stuck such that you cannot manually raise it with the switch??

But, you can't disable the backup camera, and it's not mechanical. The mirrors obviously fail, and it's very easy to disable them...regardless of whether you look back or not. Sheesh.
I have an appointment Thursday for this same problem. Mine started getting stuck last week after I was cleaning the mirrors. The mirror rotated a little bit and now has trouble going up and down.
the side mirrors are not redundant to the backup camera... the side mirrors are so that you can see the curb when parallel parking and not curb your wheels... the camers won't show the curb as it only shows what is directly behind you... if you don't ever have to parallel park, then the side mirrors are redundant...
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the feedback. I thought it was just me with this problem. The weird thing about this post is that, I don't experience the problem anymore. I don't know know what it was, but I know the same thing is going to happen right after the warrenty is done. HOpefully, I can replicate this problem in front of a Lexus Technician.

I had the same issue, and I took it in to my local stealership and they swapped it out. The weird thing is, that they don't take it appart and try to replace the motor. They actually replaced the whole mirror and housing, so I guess they had my color just sitting around in stock and put it on. I was worried about this idea b/c of color matching/fading but it looked great. You really couldn't tell at all, and it was all covered under my waranty.
