Exclamation Engine

Hello
I'm from Europe - Moldova, I want to purchase a GX Lexus.
Here in Europe there are no GX Lexus available so i'm thinking to buy it from USA. But i'm interested if there are other option for engine, i would prefer a 3.5 liter engine instead of a 4.7 one and if there is no a such option it is posible to make a request for it i'm able to pay an extra fee . Any answer will be appreciate.
Thank You in advance.

Since you are in Europe... You might wanna consider Toyota Prado instead??
I believe it comes with 2.7 liter engine or 3.0 Turbo Diesel!!

JapanParts has all the goodies to make the Prado look like a Lexus.

Actually it has a 4.0 Tacoma/4Runner V6! Great engine!

As Hsk73 mentioned, a Land Cruiser Prado would be a great choice.
and if you get the Grande model, it is almost identical to the GX
with features i wish we had on the GX

Okay, here's an answer to a question not asked. But why would you want to buy the GX here in the U.S. just to spend the thousands to ship it to Europe and then have to worry about paying applicable import duties and whatever other taxes that would likely be incurred? And . . . on top of that, spend the $10k USD + it would take to do an engine swap?

Plus, what if the boat sinks and your GX goes down with it and you have no insurance?

Get the Prado.

I don't like Prado it looks different, i like more GX Lexus, they have different interior parts on Lexus they are more luxurious than on Toyota, and yes it is because of petrol here is expensive and the Lexus GX are not available in Europe. Also if i will buy it from USA i will get the price without the taxes and shipping costs $1000 to Europe so it is not a problem for me, I REALY LIKE THE GX and i want it , i think it is a very successfull model (design, performance, everything).
Thank you all for your opinions.
I think i will get one in February :d

Fair enough Slavic, you've definitely made your case and it sounds like you know what you want. Hope you enjoy your new GX. It really is a nice ride.

On a side note - $1000 for shipping to Europe?? That is dirt cheap. It cost me $1200 to transport a car from Ohio to Arizona in the States (about an 1800 mile drive). Didn't realize it was that cheap. I thought it would be at least $4k - $5k when you factor in ground transp to dock, ocean voyage, ground transp to final dest + insurance. That's great though and more power to you.

Hi Slavic,

I spent a couple of weeks working with companies throughout Moldova back in the late 90's. I remember the back roads had fallen into pretty bad disrepair, so the GX should be a good choice if you can squeeze on the narrow ones. It would probably be a royal pain to just drive it around Kishenev.

$1000 for shipping sounds incredibly cheap, especially since if I remember correctly Moldova is landlocked and you would have to truck across parts of Eastern Europe. I'd worry about that more than the ship sinking.

I guess if you are going to go to all this risk, expense and effort, you might as well wind up with a GX!
