Default Need some seat advice please

Hey Guys,
I have a 2007 GX with the original seats. I want to get new seat skins for both the driver and passenger side front seats. (the middle and third seats are fine).
I don't need the entire seat, only the skins. Has anyone ordered new seat skins(covers) from any of the Lexus parts houses and taken them to an auto
upholstery shop for installation? The covers are expensive, but want to match the rest of the ivory interior. What have others done, as I am sure this is not
a new issue on an 18 year old vehicle.
Thanks!

I have not. I have some worn spots but they're still usable.

You're probably going have to go aftermarket for the seat covers.
Amayama has some of them (mostly Ivory, some Medium Gray) but each piece is $800+ ($1600 per seat)
The foam seat pads are also hit/miss, at $125+.

https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-c...1329/body/7151

There were changes made over the years so be sure to get the ones for your model year. And of course driver/passenger are different.

Something you may try if you only have a few worn areas is to sacrifice your third row seats. See if your auto upholstery shop can cut + stitch them into your existing front covers.

Thank you Bestguest. I will look these up.
I have found that whether its lexuspartsdirect, amayama or other parts houses, none are cheap!

We didn't buy the ridiculously expensive seats. We took our 2005 RX and 2007 GX to an upholstery place and they changed the leather on the seats only. Both came out beautiful. They just copied the old pieces. About $500 each. Perfect solution.

Thank you Muldowney2.
I am going to explore that option also. Factory re-skin prices are outrageous!

Does the heated seat function still work?
