Pre-collision system malfunction
Well, I stopped at another place and had them check the battery and they said it was good too, but if I could find a place to check it with a load, that would be better. I called the mechanic who first told me it needed to be replaced and told him I went to get a battery, but they told me it was good so I checked it at another place and they did too. I asked if they checked it with a load and he said to bring it in and he'd check it again.
He wheeled out a piece of equipment to do it and hooked it up and said it was definitely weak and should have been replaced years ago because it's the original battery. I told him that would have been a mistake because it has been a great battey with no problems for all of these years.
He quickly told me what it was supposed to say, but I had no idea what any of it meant and I don't think he was thrilled I was back so I didn't push for him to explain it to me.
I got a new, top of the line, battery today, turned the PCS off again, and by the time I got home and was pulling into the garage, it was back on again and going off as I was pulling into the garage, grrr.
Any other ideas? Thanks

Then another guy today, tells me to get a 2nd opinion on it. I have to think Lexus has the best scan tools available. But I'll go to the parts store again tomm.
The same guy said maybe it's a ABS Speed Sensor.I see theres 4. 101K in a snowy climate,i can buy that. Its just weird that light went off for 2 solid weeks, until 2 days ago.Unless it just broke. Its very stressful when you have to have a car for work, and its still a mystery, and ive been very proactive.
I just watched videos on how to replace a abs sensor, and it looks very easy for someone with a lift and the tools. 15 minutes fix.
But hopefully I'll solve this mystery tomm.
I was told those mobile ones they use at the part stores aren't accurate, and I believe that now. My mechanic rolled out a large toolbox size one that he performed the test with. I'm sorry I don't remember what it was called, but it did give out a lot more information.
I'm going to try 1 more Auto part store tomm. And I just emailed 3 mechanics.
