Default Map update cost?

Is map/navigation updated automatically through the Lexus Enform app or is it extra through some sort of usb plug in dealer update?

Extra and requires specialized tools to make it happen. The map update device is about $1k from SPC/OTX with no additional maps. It plugs into a port near the OBDII DLC.

Let's retry that one--Lexus says it gets updated via a microSD card. Order it using PT219-GEN09-20 part number. It retails for ~$210.

From the pic it looks like it’s up to the 2018 model year? Maybe that’s just the sample pic. Is there another part number for 2020/2021 map update micro sd card?

how do I know which map Year update is already on my car? Im assuming there’s something in settings to find the version of maps that’s running. I also assume this would be different from the software that’s running the infotainment which I assume is updated through Lexus Enform app?

thanks.

No idea if there is a tool for determining the map version you are on. The part number you need to order for the most current maps is now in BOLD in the quote. The infotainment software may or may not be updated through Enform. There is a firmware update the dealer (or anyone with a TIS subscription) can apply via the USB port. I have done this to mine. I am unconcerned about updating the maps since I use mobile device navigation instead of the built in navigation. I find it far more likely to be current, and far more data rich than the once a year in June Lexus updated data.

So the SD card has to remain in the SD slot or can it be removed after software is updated/loaded?

from the vid it looks like the guy had the navigation issue bc sd card wasn’t in the slot to begin with. I actually don’t even know if I have an SD card in the slot.

SD card stays in the port or the Nav does not work.

It is right above the CD slot. There’s a flap you lift up.
