Default Programming TPMS from 2020 RCF Wheels

I just purchased a set of 2020 RC-F wheels for my 2016 GS. They have the factory Michelin PS4S tires and I assume factory tire pressure sensors installed.

What's the best way to get the new tire pressure sensors to work on my car? I won't need my original set of TPMS, I will be giving away/selling the current set of wheels.

Thanks in advance!

If you have the TPMS Sensor ID's you can use Techstream or Carista to register it. Call up any tire shop they will have the tools to read/register the new sensor ID's to the car.

Ok sounds good on the tire shop, that's likely the best route for a one-off job.

For the sensor ids, is there a way to find that electronically using a scanner of some type or do you need to physically remove the tire to see those ids? Thanks!

Yes tire shops have the tools to do this. Just programming the new sensors should only cost $30-50 total from any reputable tire shop. Only cost for them is labor.

Yeah not too bad, I try to use any mod as a learning experience so it would be cool to be able to program my own sensors, even if it costs a little more for a device.

On another note, anyone know if the regular lug nuts work for these wheels?

Finally, it looks like even with the massive increase in the size of these wheels from my 18x8s, the total wheel & tire weight won't go up. It actually should go down two pounds when comparing some measurements I took with my scale and a thread about the RCF wheel weight. Obviously there will be some variance with the scale accuracy and tire type, but I certainly shouldn't notice any negative effects from an increase in weight.

This looks nice! What does your process entail when using this device? Do you read the IDs then use TechStream or are you able to handle pairing new sensors to the car using only the Autel?

I put in an order for the TS508...$127 shipped from Ebay, I'll see if its legit. Seems like a handy tool to have around for friends and family as well.

I have a scanner that has some features of techstream. The autel can read and program some sensors to clone your original ones.

But, if not cloning you'll need techstream or a scanner to input the IDs into the TPMS computer.

Got it, I think the TS508 I ordered can connect by OBDII and write the Toyota TPMS computer.
