Default Dashcam setup

Hi All,

I'm thinking about installing a dashcam in the GS, can anyone share how they setup?
I watched a bunch of Youtube videos but not on the GS though. Thanks.

Used the rain sensor adapter plug and put the camera left of the center stack - i put it just high enough to cover the camera itself with the black dots - only the lens is below them...

Helped my friend install his using the same method in less than 30 mins on his RX (but right side)

I saw you have posted that url to the item but it sold out. I found a similar one on Amazon.

Thanks.

that's the exact one 10-pin Type B...

FWIW I tried the other type (SimpleUSBCable) where you plug in the red and black wires into the rain sensor but they kept popping out

Thanks, I'll wait to test out the Viofo before I purchase. It's $30 for a cable is pretty $$$ though.

I've been watching videos on fuse tap. Load side is important

I rather use that connector now, any way to take a picture how it looks?

if you look at the picture in this thread one of the pictures shows the black rain sensor(?) plug.. you simply use the adapter to piggy back off of that plug to power the dashcam.. when you pop out the center stack cover you will see that one end had a circular opening... simply pull the cord out through there to connect to your dashcam.. I think my friend used a 90 degree mini usb plug to power his dashcam (not necessary)

I have the old Thinkware F750 dash cam that has been going strong for almost 10 years, 24/7 in the car in all weather. I just transferred it whenever I traded in my cars.

I ran my cable through the headliner and pillar, under the front passenger seat, all the way to the center console cigarette plug because I don't like to mess with the factory wiring and it's a clean install.
