Default Android Auto

Hi all, I have a 2016 GS450H F sport with the nav which goes full screen. I'd like to purchase an aftermarket Android Auto box, however I'm struggling to know which is best, e.g GROM, Lsailt, Beatsonic or CARLINKIT. I can see that those with a 2016+ car and using Apple Carplay seem to be ok, but I am specifically interested in Android Auto, and if the sound quality is good and if the image is stretched on the screen. Would really love to hear from anyone about this. Thanks!

Lot's of good threads on this, but easy to get in the weeds, and harder to find specific AA feedback sometimes.

I haven't done this (yet) but I am 100% looking in to this as well. I'm personally leaning towards Beat-Sonic, which is a wired solution. I would love wireless, but while I've heard Car Play works good wirelessly, haven't really heard much feedback from Android users.

If you have an Android, Beatsonic allows you to hook up wirelessly if you're looking into the mirroring option. I believe that Beatsonic is coming out with a high definition smart mirroring option for the newer Lexi which mine is not

I've been on beatsonic site and watched some of their videos. No where did I see it say wireless. You have a link? Maybe I've been looking in wrong place.

Yes, I realized that once I responded. Oh, well. Wirelessly smartphone mirroring is an option, maybe?

It is. I had it before but wireless Apple Carplay is much better.

Yea, and truthfully if it was mirroring vs wired AA I'd probably go with the wired option, just to have true AA.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take what I can get, haha, but yea

I tried Beatsonic wired AA at one point, it worked flawlessly. That might be the current best option for Android Auto. No idea if Carlinkit resolved the AA issues or how well GROM is running AA. I know Grom had a lot of bugs and random restarts in the past, but they might be a lot better now.

Good to hear, definitely the way I was leaning.

How was the resolution on the Beatsonic Android Auto?

It was good but it’s much better on my CarPlay setup because I have the 2016 12.3” display/head unit and they improved the picture quality. One of the changes in 2016.

I suggest checking with a local car stereo installer company. I was having some work done on anoter car (couldn't get steering wheel volume control to work) and they told me they had a good wireless system for Lexus.
Good luck.
