Do you guys use your seat exiting function for your driver's seat? If so, would this lead to premature failure of the driver seat motor? I'm torn on whether to disable through the infotainment setting or keep it on.

My Infiniti had this - I used it almost 100% of the time and loved it. On the Lexus I turned it off because it seemed to make getting out of the car more difficult for me.
The Infiniti is about to turn 21 years old later this month with 172,000+ miles on it. For the first time about a month ago the seat motor acted it. I actually don't think it's the motor, I think it's a loose connection somewhere. That said....if an Infiniti seat can go that long I don't think you need to worry about a Lexus. Do what makes getting in and out of the car easiest for you.
One note....I had the same thought about having the power mirrors fold and unfold....I finally decided since I'm one of those suckers who went with the extra warranty I'd better use the %*$! out of those mirrors to make sure if they do fail it happens before the warranty runs out!
I got sick of crushing items (and people) in the back so I turned mine off. The last thing was an old ceramic plate, IMO the GS is too small for this feature.

Yeah I used to do "full" on my ES but changed it to "Partial" in the GS. Also I make sure if anyone is behind me I just wait until they get out.

I can totally understand that.....the thing I liked about the Infiniti is there was a super easy cancel switch on the dash when there was someone or something back there
It's interesting...my Infiniti and the GS are very close in size but because of the styling the interiors are very different. The GS's wheel base is actually 4" longer and it's only 1" shorter that the Infiniti over all (The GS is actually longer by 4" than the JDM version of the Infiniti) The amount of space from the front edge of the back seat to the to the back of the front seat is probably double the GS's space and that's WITH the exit on.
I thought it was going to be one of those useless features but ended up loving it. Makes getting in and out of the car super easy (have it set on partial since I'm not very tall).
Gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Lexus tested the daylights out of these if they're going to actuate every time you get in and out of the car.
I love it. At first I didn't use it because I was worried about it breaking, but like others have said I bought a car that's well designed and made for it to be used. I love the lumbar function, nothing like getting a nice "I miss you hug" from your car
If I have to replace a motor 15 years down the road so be it... I'll be able to get in/out of the car comfortably for those next 15 years.
I wouldn't worry about the longevity of the motors or the effect of this feature on them.
Personally, it's a feature that I despise. I like the steering wheel retracting, but hate the seat sliding back. I find it makes it harder to get out and crushes my back seat occupant. When I bought the car, I turned it off before I even left the dealer.
