Default Navigation question

I used the navigation for the first time yesterday in my 2018 F Sport and have a question. I had the music pretty loud and could not hear the voice command prompts from the nav. In my old Infiniti, the nav would mute the front speakers so you could hear the voice commands. I looked in the menus but could not find an option that would allow me to do that in the GS. Am I missing something here?

Menu > Setup > Voice Volume

Edit* Not sure if there’s an option to Auto-mute your music but you can just adjust the voice volume to be louder.

I have it all the way up. It does not mute the stereo like my Infiniti used to do. I can't believe Lexus overlooked this.

It does not mute the music during nav guidance, and unfortunately you cannot change this in the settings.

I was afraid of that. It sucks, but I'll have to live with it.

Left steering wheel Mode button -when tapped it changes between modes, held longer it mutes the radio or pauses playback media.
When the Nav prompts come on just hold the Mode long enough to Mute and press the center console Map button to replay the prompt.

I've always used Google Maps on my phone and never from the car... basically because I like Google Maps, and Waze,

...and never found an easy way to enter addresses into the GS's Nav. How do you guys do it? Also, my Enform has expired and I do not intend to renew a subscription... does that matter?

And I stream music from BT while using Maps, so the voice always lowers the music for directions.

Somebody.. teach me some easy Nav tricks...!

I much prefer using the car's NAV...in all my vehicles. If I have the phone number of the business where I want to go, that is the easiest and fastest method. But entering an address or business name is easy too... The NAV's screen is so nice in the GS 350 with it tucked back from the dash it's too nice not to use.

So you use the RT to scroll over the keyboard... and hunt and peck...?

Once you get used to it there's no hunt-n-peck - it's plenty fast enough.

I send addresses ahead of time via my phone or just use voice control. I never really get the issue. Very easy.

Unfortunately my Caribbean accent (Trinidad and Tobago) often makes voice recognition a frustrating process for me. How do you send addresses via your phone? It's not the first time I've heard of this feature but I've never figured it out.

You use Lexus Enform app. It works ok but the interface is clunking. You have to put in the destinations before hand. Who does that? I just want to drive and press voice button to summons Google or Waze for directions. Now with GROM my dream are all coming true. Couldn't ask for anything more. You're from the Carribean? For some reason I had picture you as a middle-age white dude that likes to detail cars 😁

Apple Carplay is much easier I just tell SIRI the address and she loads it into google maps or waze. Much better than the factory nav.

The Lexus Navi is ancient. The cheapo refurb Kenwood double din in our 2001 Tundra, with Apple Carplay and Android Auto beats the snot outta it.
