2013 GS backup camera works with GROM but it's not bug-free. Occasionally people with 2013-2014 MY complaint of various bugs like back-up camera not working. GROM is very good to fix those bugs quickly once you bring it up. My 2015 GS never have any of these issues. It is surmised that GROM is using a 2015 GS as a vehicle to test their software/firmware, that's the reason most 2015 are mostly bug-free while the older vehicles experience some hiccups. There is a way to work around the backup camera bug. Switch to OEM interface before backing up, then switch back to GROM. Not ideal, but at least it's avoidable.

You only get fullscreen with MY 2016+. That's a Lexus thing, nothing to do with GROM or any other aftermarket manufacturer.

 

The Lexus app just exits to the stock nav.

I have retrofitted a 2016 GS head unit into a 2013 GS. The 2013 backup camera is wired differently than 2016 backup camera, therefore it doesn’t work. The trigger for the reverse signal is completely different in 2013 and 2016

The 2016+ GS does not utilize the entire 12.3” display, it has black bars on both sides. My aftermarket setup utilized the full screen. I used the aftermarket backup camera connected to the Carlinkit to regain my backup camera. I didn’t have it for a year since i had 2015 head unit before.

if you put a 2015+ GS head unit into a 2013 GS the stock backup camera will not work.
