Look for Peasodos dash tear apart. You have to take out the radio and side leather knee skirts next to teh inside of the front seats, then undo the shifter platform. It sounds like alot, but its all of 4 screws, just a lot of tabs you have to be somewhat careful with. First time will be sacry, then you will start taking your car apart to detail it regularly lol.

P.S. Found this video. This is 50% of it and the hardest part:\

Sorry you dont have to remove the radio, you just have to remove the surround, then the leather sides. You will see a single screw on the drivers side of the shifter gate, remove than and you can remove the shifter gate, and then you will be able to easily get to all the wiring for the 12v lighter port.

No problem!! Keep me updated, I might install the same device. Please do me one favor, for both me and you; I think you should use a multimeter to check the current draw when charging your phone and make sure it doesn't draw more than the circuit can support. I guess if you can't check the current it won't really matter to be honest, as the fusebox in the car will protect everything anyhow.

Any videos or thoughts on how to remove the cigarette lighter plug on our modern GS?
Why wouldn't you just splice the wires to a 12v cigarette plug?...

Ahhh, that's why.
I once chat with one of Ali seller for this exact item. Asking to see more photo esp. the plug. She sent me other angle photos and she kept saying 'don't worried dear it's easy' without sending the photo. So I dropped my intention.

Yeah, better splice to a cigarette plug than mess with the OEM wiring.

I bet they also say "Don't worry dear, if ur car catches fire it wouldn't be our problem!"

I will probably eventually get a wireless charger for the GS. It's one of the features that I wish the car had. My truck has a Qi pad and I use it often. It's very convenient.

I wish it can just plug into 1 of the 2 USB ports for the aftermarket ones.

I like this one. I don't want to take apart anything in vehicle. Can't they use the USB port?
