Default Bluetooth playing Music automatically

So I use bluetooth always to play my music and as you know the car automatically pairs up when you get in which is great.

But my issue is that when you turn on the radio or turn up the volume the music starts to play automatically. Sometimes I just want to freaking hear the GPS and not have to keep pausing the music to hear it. It's so annoying. Is there anyway to stop this? I use an Android phone.

I'm sorry, I might be misreading or misunderstanding something, but it seems like you're saying your phone autoplays music when it connects to your car's bluetooth and you don't want that. If that's the case, it's a phone setting, not a car setting. You can turn that off in your phone's music player setting.

Also, if your car navigation is on and your phone is playing music, the car should automatically decrease the music volume when the GPS is giving you directions.

Yea mine does that too and I can hear the nav voice just fine with the music lowered in the background.

Mine also automatically starts to play when I start the car, which is something I actually enjoy. However, on a similiar note.. I noticed a week ago that I was playing Pandora and using the Google Maps through my iphone and I wanted to cut the music (i paused it) to just listen to the navigation instruction, this worked ok but as soon as i hit the steering wheel volume button to turn up or down the volume the music would automatically start playing again, which was kind of fustrating because I was trying to turn up the volume to hear the google maps prompts but instead it triggered the music to continue playing..

Also if I close all my music apps the car would re-open the app and continue playing sometimes too.. didn't really bug me that much so i never really went to investigate whether it was the car or phone settings though..

Does the navigation voice actually lower the stereo volume while it's speaking? It's been a while since I last went into the car settings but I'm pretty sure I remember having to raise the volume of her voice so I could hear it over my music. I'm pretty sure mine doesn't touch the volume at all while speaking.

This happens to me too. I'm more curious about how it decides which song to automatically play. Mine stays with the same song for a long time.... but after several weeks, it default plays a different song which goes on for another duration of time. I'm not sure if I triggered the change or if it's randomly selected.

My '15 does NOT adjust music volume when navigation speaks. It is a feature my GM SUVs have had that I am surprised Lexus didn't incorporate.

No Lexus or Toyota product that I own or have owned turns the music volume down while the navigation voice is playing.

What?! It's been like this even with my old 2011 Camry with the factory Nav (or so I thought), it turns it down and back up after the voice nav. Now I need to go back and test it again.
