Hey guys, new to the forum but not new to the brand, I couldn’t stay away from Lexus for too long. Ha!

Recently picked up a 2013 GS350 F Sport, however it came with one key. I’m interested in the wallet key that Lexus offered some time ago, so I call the dealer nearest to me and find out that this key is no longer available. There are options online, and I’ve researched this over the last few days extensively. Dealer says that the wallet key can’t be programmed to the car, but the guy I spoke with sounded a bit lazy in his response so I do t have much confidence in the automatic “no” that I was presented with. The key that came with the car is a HYQ14FBA, and the wallet key is most commonly found as the HYQ14ABB. Does anyone know or have a way to find out if the 14ABB can be programmed to a GS that currently uses the 14FBA Smart Fob?

tl;dr - Can the wallet key be programmed to a 13 GS?

Lots of people here have tried with the pre-refresh GS (2013-2015) to get the credit card/wallet key to work for the US cars and I don't think there have been any successes. Apparently it does work for non-US cars though.

GSF card key works for my 2018. can't confirm on pre-refresh. could always ask them to order the key and try installing it on your car. My dealership didn't think it would work and told me they would only charge me if it worked so I decided to be the guinea pig for us.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply too. It sounds like the transmitter in the card key may be spec'd for markets only outside of the US. I'll speak with the dealer this coming Wednesday.

Wondering if anybody still uses this type of key and know if it is available any where. So far all I've came across is that it's been discontinued.

I think you should still be able to purchase the key card for a GS F and have it programmed since there are still GS F owners out there (and non F owners) that have gotten it programmed in the last few years. Here is a helpful thread where members have confirmed that the GS F key car will work for any 4GS model:

As others have stated, you can purchase the GS F key for the GS 350 and it should work, granted the FCC ID is correct. Since I also have a 2017 RX and ran into the same issue as the GS, I ended purchasing a 2020-2021 LX570 smart key and was able to register it without any issues. I asked the dealership to make me the slim emergency blade key and that I was willing to pay for it. They said they don't cut the keys locally and have them done by VIN at another Lexus facility. Unfortunately, they indicated since it's not officially available for my vehicle, they won't be able to make it. Below is the screenshot from the service report. Now I'm looking for a 3rd-party key cutting service that will make these specialized keys but no luck so far.

try ace hardware store. They were able to cut mine for only $15. Just bring an original mechanical key so they can copy that over to the blank.

A new GSF credit card key is the only thing that worked on my 2013 450h. I tried a few other ones but ended up returning all of them.
