When I got my 2015 RC F new, I purchased a Lexus Key Card for $150 from sewell, and had a key guy program it in 2 minutes, and became addicted to not carrying a key fob, and just the card in my wallet for 3 years.

Fast forward, I went to the dealer last week to do the 1,000 service on my LC and asked if I could do the same, since I could not find a part number that matched the LC for the key card. The Service manager had no idea, and jumped on the challenge. Took my key fob apart, took pics of the FCC numbers and freq, and said he would email his LC specialist and let me know. 5 days later, he calls me and says that it is currently NOT possible to get a key card made.

I know, 1st world problems, but how does a $100k car not have a key card with it?...rant off...

Any ideas?

 

Yeah that sucks, one of my favorite things about the ISF is the credit card key..

 

 

What exactly is this key card - I feel ignorant asking this....

Agreed. Or even if anyone here would have changes/updates from their dealers to see if they would be able to obtain one.
