I installed on my lx570, having a constant issue with screen. Lx has front and side cameras they auto activate when you slow to stop or park. 8/10 times grom cannot go back to full screen and gets stuck in a split screen, and I lose controls to switch back to oem or grom (media) button. Only way I figured it keeps working is I disable the auto the front and side cameras which I need for a big car like lx.
updated, firmware etc disable the auto map feature. It just don’t work.
Have you tried reaching out to their support team? If so, what was their response?
Waiting patiently for the day the VL2 stops having connection/disconnections issue with Wireless CarPlay. Especially when my iPhone is plugged in fast charging and using maps it just can't handle it. My phone will get hot, start acting sluggish, then CarPlay crashes.

Should I just give up on Wireless and used Wired?
Very interesting! So without the fast charging there is the problem with wireless CarPlay connectivity? Our technical team will look into it. For now please restart the iPhone, and see if it will help. You can also contact our technical team at https://gromaudio.com/support.html

The group order will end on Friday. If interested to join, PM us your email address and we will add you to the list, and send you the group order email that has terms and conditions of the group order.
So I narrowed down my parasitic drain to the GROM VLine2. It adds a 50-60mA draw. Disconnecting the unit causes the drain to go back down to a more manageable 20mA. Why doesn't the unit shutdown when the car is off? Can I change it so that it powers off? 50-60mA is enough to kill a car during a mid-west winter.

when did you check the drain? I think you can set the time interval for Grom to goto sleep after the car shuts off. I think mine is set to 1 or 10 minutes. I forget.

I checked it 6 hours after driving. Is it a menu setting or do we have to do a firmware update or something?

hmm.. if your vline boots at restart then it’s all good and not sleeping.
p.s. I just checked my car for the setting. I can’t find it. Either I lied or I am thinking about my other cars non-grom system. Like if you restart your car within a minute, the vline boots right up since it’s asleep and not turned off.
VLine is designed to work as fast as possible after you start the vehicle, at the same time consuming as little battery as possible. The normal behavior will be as follows:
Within 10-15 minutes after ignition is off, VLine will stay fully up and running, able to process data and installing updates if needed. Most internal LEDs are on.
After 15 minutes VLine will go to sleep, consuming around 35mA, ready to start immediately upon ignition. Only one internal LED will be on.
After 24 hours of inactive ignition VLine will shut down fully, consuming 3-4mA. Ready to work in 20 seconds after ignition is on. No internal LEDs are on.
After 15 minutes VLine will go to sleep, consuming around 35mA, ready to start immediately upon ignition. Only one internal LED will be on.
If I'm reading this correct, between 15 min after shutdown and 24 hours, VLine will continue to draw 35mA? Is there a way to change this? I have a natural parasitic draw of 60-80mA (system internals and parked dashcam) so 35mA is kind of a heavy ask during the winter.

Under normal conditions 35mA in 24 hours gives about 800mAH. Which is ~1% of the battery capacity. After 24 hours the VLine's draw will be minimal. 80mA is an extremely high draw regardless, check if you can reduce that first.
If you use vehicle daily the VLine's draw will be much lower given the usage every ~10 hours.
