Default how to keep door accent lights while driving

Guys,

I have a gs350 fsport, when i park the accent lights under the footwell and in the door handles (inside) is bright.

Anyone knows how i can keep them on at the same brightness when driving?

I remember reading a thread a while back that said once the car is in drive the ambient lighting dims. Can’t remember if anyone figured out how to keep it on full brightness.

Not sure that there really is a way but I'm remaining hopeful. It might as well not have ambient lighting. It gets so dim once out of park and 99% of my time spent in the car is not in park. I really don't understand this design choice (and I'm not concerned with nighttime eye strain from the ambient lighting, considering how many cars out there have a ridiculous amount of color choices and way more lights scattered throughout the interior - I'm assuming the reason this was done was to reduce eye strain, otherwise, it reallllly doesn't make sense to me).

I have dark tints on my car so in the dark hours of the day or night, some of the interior lighting reflects off the tints (e.g., gauge cluster). I don't think I'd want them on all the time but they definitely do look really cool. Should be simple to wire them to any direct power source.

maybe some coding or re-wiring.

Someone on this forum did this by connecting an led bar in parallel to the existing one.
This will make it brighter when in park, but also brighter when you drive, because you have an extra led, even though it dims.

You need the wiring manual to tell you where the wire connects to the BCM.
EDIT - OP, PM me for the wiring details if you are serious about rewiring the LEDs to take 12v.

Wanted to check in and see if anyone was able to successfully find out what needed to be required to keep ambient lighting at full bright? I know about the bullet garage mod, just wanted to check this way first.
Thanks.

Our ’18 audi allroad has heavy LED lighting on doors, dash,, and console. Can change colors and brightness. Also can vary footwell illumination.
Really cool the first day you get it.
this is wifes car. Within weeks its at lowest setting and in white. Its really distracting otherwise. Its cool mind you.
I too thought the GS should have more variable choices. Once the wiz-bang effect wears off you get to appreciate the low key subtleness of the Lexus door illuminations.

Sorry to be the gumpy dude on this thread. Is it worth the hassle of changing and wearing out the LED’s?
