Default Warning bells driving me crazy!

Everytime I open the door to get out of my 08 LS460 the warning bell rings incessantly.

The only thing I can think of is that I'm usually in a parking garage and the lights are on due to the auto-feature on the lights. But, I think sometimes it rings even though the lights aren't on.

Sometimes you open the door but don't jump right out of the car. Is there anyway to disable this ringing bell?

Thanks,

jpf

I've tried to imagine some scenario that would cause this and I can't think of a single one. It is not normal for the beeper to sound when you open the door, if you have turned the ignition off. The only possibility that I can think of is that when you killed the ignition, instead of operating the pushbutton once, you somehow operated it twice, which would leave your car's ignition off but the accessory power would be on. If you happened to do this sort of thing, it would not completely discharge the battery as the Accessory Power has an automatic off after 30 minutes and when you returned to your car later there would be no evidence of that sort of mistake. The next time you have this happen check to see if the yellow light on the Start pushbutton is lit.

Do you wear your seatbelt?

Do you keep your seatbelt on until you kill the ignition?

Do you enable the HOLD feature?

Do you have a passenger with you when this occurs?

Default Same on both my Lexus

You have to turn the car off before you open the door! There is no way I have found around this.

I love warning bells. I wish Lexus would add more, and I also wish they would add a feature that cuts my steak for me in to little pieces and feeds it to me like a choo-choo train.

LOL> We should start a new thread entitled "Things I wish Lexus would add for us."

Then I could answer and give my input. Again .... this in only a thought IN CASE a thread like this <"Things I wish Lexus would add for us"> is ever started.

A) A No Start feature on a LS460 until you have read at least once the Owner's Manual. -

B) A total LS460 vehicle disabling feature unless you can PROVE you have used - and can use - and WILL use - a "Search engine" (like Google) on the web.
-

I feel those two items ARE doable.

LOL - Happy Memorial Day Holiday to you.

If you interpreted my responses to be "snarky," I apologize. My only intention was to be helpful.
