Without a doubt, you are 100% correct. And I totally could have cut off the excess trim on the 2016+ pieces to fit it flush with the 2013-2015 dash, but it never bothered me so I left it as-is.

So what did you exactly cut on the vent to make the 16+ bezels sit nearly correct?

i decided to cut and I’m pretty good at it lol

looks off off of the car, but installed looks pretty goooood!
