So I just noticed that the surface of my puck is extremely sticky. Almost like when rubber/plastics start to deteriorate and become a sticky/gooey substance.
It's a 2015 vehicle, so I don't think this should be happening this soon. I bought it used 1 month ago and it did not seem to have this problem.
I tried cleaning it with water, IPA, and APC. No luck.
Anyone else have this problem or a remedy to this problem?
Edit: I also notice that the dash surrounding the screen is starting to have this problem aswell.
Edit 2: So I decided to wipe everything down again and put a thin layer of Aerospace 303. Seems to get rid of the stickiness, but I doubt this will last more than a few weeks.
I haven't seen this on a current model GS yet. No signs of it on mine. Makes me wonder what kind of chemicals the previous owner may have used to clean or dress the dash and various components.
You can get a replacement remote touch **** and swap that out pretty cheap and easy, but I'm not sure what to recommend for the dash.

Good to know! I was wondering if I could just pull it straight up to remove it, but was too scared to try.
Might try a couple more cleaning solutions or dressings. If that doesn't work, I'll probably just replace it.

I have a 2013 and my controller is getting to the point of being sticky. It's not there just yet though. My exterior trunk release button is another story...
This reminds me of the "sticky" dash issues in the 2IS. Wasn't caused by anything bad/improper applied to the dash, just bad material used for something that takes a lot of different climates. Nothing cured the issue back then, other than constant reapplying cleaner and/or dash protectant. Or, buying a brand new dash of course.
Nah, it's not. I haven't used a single cleaning product on mine. My guess it's the same rubberized material Lexus has been using for years that does not do well with heat. Lexus dashboards and exterior door/trunk buttons have been melting for years. Toyota and Nissan suffer the same.
