Default Key FOB Programming,

I have GS350 2013. Key FOB does not roll the windows down. Any suggestions short of taking to the dealer. And how much dealer can charge if I have to take it to the dealer

I assume you're asking about the cool down feature whereby you hold the unlock button to roll the windows down. I recall reading somewhere on the forum a while back that the dealer had to program this feature for around $100. I had a 2013 and couldn't find the setting anywhere in the setup menu - admittedly I didn't spend hours looking either but I wasn't going to spend $100 for the feature.

However, someone suggested the Carista OBD2 adapter so I bought that and was able to customize that feature within the app. I purchased mine several years ago for $30 on Amazon, then paid a one-time $20 charge in the app and have customizations for life on iOS (used it on my 2013, my 2008 BMW, and my brother's LS460 with success on various customizations that the dealer wanted to charge for).

Looks like it's $40 now on
Amazon Amazon
(
Amazon Amazon
) and I believe there may be an annual fee for the customization app instead of a one-time charge. It's a useful adapter because you can do a lot with it such as turn off the automatic heated seats (my wife hated that feature in the 2013 models), or turn off the seat belt chime for the driver's seat (or both seats), and several more things that I just can't recall at the moment.

Go on Amazon and look for a Techstream cable/software, you can customize whatever you want and also use it to troubleshoot any faults you may encounter.

It was very nice of you to explain in detail. You have mentioned App. As I just bought mine GS just a month ago. Can you please tell me which App are you referring to?

you have at least 2 options.

1st. get those fancy bluetooth box and buy software for andriod/ios. I think it's easiest way if you're not tech savvy/geeky. I guess couple switches and you're done.

2nd, is to buy this wire adapter (x-horse china copy) there will be software attached, named tis techstream toyota diagnostic software. you need pc (win 7/8/10) to install it. procedure not the easy, but nothing crazy hard. then you can be almost dealer for your car.
