Just purchased a new 2016 GS350 and I have searched this site and others for radar detector power options. The cig lighter location in center console really stretches out that power cord across the cabin. Don't care for that. I see some folks have tapped into the mirror power which looks a lot cleaner.

Has anyone tackled this in the GS? How does your Lexus dealer act - any warranty issues?

Other options?

 

I got a flat cord cig lighter extension. Ran that from the center console out the back and in between the driver seat/ console. Thats where i plugged the radar cord in (with mute button). Then the coiled radar cord runs under the dash up the door jamb panel and onto the dash (left corner). You can't see any of the wires and the mute button is in a convenient concealed location.

 

I tapped into the rain sensor which is up near the mirror too

 

I used a mirror tap 12" version for my v1 and also for the passport I had prior. Works great and install took 10 minutes. Bought it from ebay as it was cheaper from their than it was on their website.

 

hello fam!! i also i just bought a escort 360 and bought a mirror tap off eBay. i been researched how to tap into mirror or rain sensor but i don't know which wire i should tap into. can anyone tell me which wire i would tap in for power and found. thanks a lot

I was also curious because the set up seems different to the 2015. Do you just pry the overhead console to access the rain sensor?

 

I tapped into the rain sensor as well with the mirror tap and blendmount for my V1. Btw if anyone wants to buy the blendmount and mirrortap PM me. I sold my V1 the next day so they are both practically new.
