I finally have the time to do this. Changed it at 20K miles along with my engine air filter.

Excellent video...as usual. Good work! What brand filter did you use, where did you buy it and what is the model number?

I always use OHH EEE EMM parts now. This is a $60K car so I only use top quality parts.

I got the cabin filter from Sewell back in the day for about $30 and the engine filter from my local dealer for $23. The cabin filter is pricey as hell compared to the engine one.

Damn it man I just threw away the box! But just ebay "2013-2015 Lexus GS genuine cabin filter" and it should pop up. Might wanna grab the engine filter too while ur there, I think ebay has it for about $50 for both.

Try these:

Naa man, once those dirt are stuck in the filter not even compressed air can get it out, they stick forever.

Have any of you seen mold on your air filters? I never thought about it before but there is an interesting article on this here: http://www.vehiclemd.com/the-fresh-s...n-air-filters/

Are the carbon-based filters the best way to mitigate this?

I'm thinking about buying some Fram Filters to replace my cabin filter for my 2013 GS 350 F Sport.

Have you observed any airflow restriction with these filters? I heard some complaints from others on Amazon for their particular vehicles that this is an issue. Wondering if this has been an issue for anyone's GS.

No airflow problems. I used this brand in my GX.

Thanks for confirming. I ordered the OEM filter instead for now, but will consider the Fram filter for future replacements as they are much cheaper.

So did Lexus design the 4GS better than the 3GS? If you forgot to put the car in re-circulate mode (or vice versa) you would break the fragile plastic piece that allowed you to switch from fresh air to cabin air. In order to fix that mistake you had to completely tear the car apart and it cost $2,000 to replace....or some other ridiculous number. Lexus was also very apprehensive to cover it under warranty.

Great video!

I had asked others about that in this topic and apparently it's a non-issue for the 4GS since nobody seems to have mentioned the need to press the re-circulate button before changing the cabin air filter (that additional step is also not mentioned in the owner's manual).

Excellent filter
I'm curious as to which Fram part number you guys used for your vehicles. Was it CF8249A?

Most reviewers on Amazon are saying it does not fit the 4GS:
Amazon.com: FRAM CF8249A Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter: Automotive Amazon.com: FRAM CF8249A Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter: Automotive

Also, I remember bclexus also mentioning it is the incorrect size: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ml#post9126425

Ty in advance,
