I have this note in my files concerning the GS 350 Cabin Air Filter:

Correct Cabin Air Filter dimensions for Lexus GS 350: (H x L x W): 1.38" x 11.75" x 9.06"

Damn I didn't know the 3GS had that problem. No problem with the 4GS here, my system still works like it supposed to.

I think on the 4GS as soon as u turn off the engine it automatically goes to outside airflow.

This thread shouldn't even need to exist.
You turn the car off, open up the door in the glove box, pull out the old filter, put in the new one, close the door. Done.
This is the same process as basically every other car that is produced.

I used the OEM filter last time and this weekend I hit my 30,000 mile checkup and I put in the TYC filter.
