Default Which cabin air filter to purchase?

I've searched all over this forum and have not yet found where someone shows EXACTLY which cabin air filter they've purchased.

I checked several automotive store websites and Amazon and ended up buying a Fram FreshBreeze CF8249A because they all stated that it would work for my car.
It does not seem to fit. I see that since I've purchased this air filter now a couple of people have written negative reviews stating that it doesn't fit for them either.

Which brand and model have you purchased to replace the cabin air filter?
Can you please post a link if possible?

Thanks.

OP, there is reportedly a risk of doing $1k plus worth of damage to your car if you make a mistake while changing the filter. I recommend that you know what you are doing if you DIY.

I do not recommend the FRAM filter. It does not fit quite as snug as the stock model and it leads to a major reduction in flow while not really doing a very good job of filter smells or dust.
Same thing for STP. Get the OEM carbon on.

OEM carbon version is here

http://www.lpartsworld.com/product/GS-IS-RC350-RC-F-CABIN-AIR-FILTER/87139-30100/964/

But you should know that carbon is only worth it if experience lots of traffic jams in your drive.

Thanks everyone for your comments!

I actually work as an engineer at Denso and I had forgotten that I can look up parts and order at a discount.
I ended up getting the 453-1019 for $6.08 each.
My wife's Toyota Sienna also uses the same filters so I picked up 5 of them.
While I was at it I also bought us each a couple of pairs of windshield wipers.

It still drives me nuts that multiple websites steered me towards a Fram filter that does not fit.
I'll be sure to leave review so others will know not to buy them and make the same mistake.

Thanks everyone again.

Since you work at DENSO I'd like to ask you if I can replace the DENSO OEM spark plugs with DENSO IKBH20TT? OEM spark plug gap is 0.044 while the new TT version is 0.040. Rockauto and DENSOproducts both told me it wont be a problem.

I looked up spark plugs for my 2014 GS350 and it shows me that you can use both.

The descriptions for both:
Gap 0.044|Long # FK20HBR11|DENSO is O.E. Manufacturer / Iridium Long Life Plug - Patented Iridium Alloy Plug (90% Ir) with Platinum Ground Strap

Gap 0.040|Long # IKBH20TT|Iridium TT - Ultimate Endurance and Power, 0.4mm Iridium and 0.7mm Platinum Twin-Tip Technology

Hope this helps.

It appears that you are right. Fram has obviously made a mistake in their Cabin Air Filter application listing for the Lexus GS 350 - because the Fram Fresh Breeze CF8249A Cabin Air Filter is not the same size as the Denso filter that fits the Lexus GS 350.

Correct Cabin Air Filter dimensions for Lexus GS 350:
Denso 453-1019 Cabin Air Filter - Dimensions (H x L x W): 1.38" x 11.75" x 9.06"

Incorrect Cabin Air Filter application listing for Lexus GS 350 dimensions:
Fram Fresh Breeze CF8249A Cabin Air Filter - Dimensions (H x L x W): 1.508" x 9.173" x 8.195"

Well, it looks like my problem is still not solved.

I ordered 5 of the Denso 453-1019 cabin air filters and they arrived today.
They do not fit.

They are much smaller than what is in my vehicle right now.

I was already mad that Amazon, Autozone, Advanced Auto steered me wrong and got me to order the Fram filter that didn't work, but now I'm extra mad that Denso tells me to use this Denso air filter and they are wrong as well.

Looks like I'm back to the drawing board.

I think that I'm going to try the: TYC 800179C Replacement Cabin Air Filter for Lexus
There is only 1 review on Amazon.com but they specifically state that it works for their 2013 GS.
It should work for my 2014.

Ugh.

Wow! Does the Denso filters you just received measure different from the above measurements?

Now, it makes me wonder what the correct cabin air filter size actually measures.
