Its been a long time since posting here but I need your opinion.
I just checked the air filter for the hell of it last weekend as I bought this pre-owned a year ago.. Of course it looks like a normal filter but it also has a glued on sheet of maybe 1/4 inch filter like material on the air filter.
Has anyone every seen this before? Seems like overkill and certainly can't help for both power and MPG.
Is it before the normal filter media? Possibly just a prefilter of sorts to keep the large stuff from getting caught in the pleats. If not, I have no idea.
I noticed the same thing when I changed mine. I believe it is a pre-filter for the main filter....I assume it is just a way to make it more efficient. I will catch the larger stuff and leave the main filter for the small stuff. Probably gives a very small boost to the mph, although that is just a guess. In theory it should allow the engine to breath easier.
