These links have already been posted but... looking at the BlackVue DR650GW-2CH

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/blackvu...%28Inactive%29

which is reviewed for "best dash cam of 2015" under this
http://dashboardcamerareviews.com/be...-cams-of-2015/

That being said... what are the "more expensive models," and are they worth the higher price tag? I see that the "group buy" is ending in 2 days so I might jump on this.

I have the Compustar Dash in my Lexus, In my other car i have the Blackvue DR650.

Like both of them but the Blackvue i like better. Wifi to the phone and it has an app. Live viewing as well as downloading to the phone any event that you need. Can upload directly to Youtube as well in 1080.

Do you guys think having a rear camera is essential, or having a front camera is good enough?

Front is good, rear is a hassle to install cause u gotta run a long wire to the front and risk messing up ur window tint if u use suction cup or double sided tape.

This^ I mean you could always pay someone to do it, but it's not 100% necessary. More like peace of mind kind of deal, but if you think about it.. if anyone rear ends you.. it's going to be their fault regardless. Also if you have a decent wide angled front cam.. then that should be enough evidence for most accidents or hit and runs and etc.

Rear is not that important but I would have it, just in case if cop says that my speed was greater then in reality... Also, in case of rear end accident, police report might give 50/50 fault or other percentage under certain circumstances, it's not always 100% fault of driver behind

Not necessary to pull a wire via rear window, behind rear seat bunch of holes you can use for that, then partially remove interior carpet panel to drop a wire... done

A front cam can capture the speed that you're going as well though. You're right it's not always 100%, but majority of the time the one that rear ended will receive the blame. Police won't bother coming out unless there's an injury.

Agree... front cam will capture the speed etc but in order to have 100% proof, I want to see cop's car + license plate if possible on picture as well Since whatever cop says, it's true by law
