I have this cable i purchased for my dash camera in order to hard wire it. The wires are not labeled so other then the black ground cable I am unsure what the yellow and red are. My next route is to email the manufacturer. I got some simple wire taps from amazon hope to tap the mirror but not clear on what I'm to tap into. Has anyone tapped the mirror with T connectors? Do they fit in the mirror harness enclosure? See picture of my wire attached.
Just a guess, but I think the red is Battery power, and the yellow ignition power. Maybe someone with a dash cam can chime in.
To aid with the install, you can hook it to the rearview mirror so you're not running wires everywhere in the vehicle.
There are several threads out there, here is one to get you started: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ew-mirror.html

Thanks for this. I've taken a few hours to read many posts and not one actually shows the install to a mirror. Many people showing the fuse box method which I'm not looking to do.
Can anyone point me in the direction on how to connector to the mirror wires and what supplies I'll need???????
I just tapped into the the wire harness above the dome light. I used a multimeter to confirmed *Switched* 12V power. That means 12V only when the car ignition is ON.
Ground can be any ground wire. I believe i also used a wire in the wire harness.
Thanks for all the replies. I actually tapped the fuse box under the driver side steering column. Easy and simple. I would do a write up but never have the time. If I get the chance I would like to help some other "non technical" people out. It was as easy as setting up a new desktop pc.
