Default Maintenance Schedule

Hi everyone,
Looking into the maintenance schedule on Lexus.com, it is completely different than Lexus.ca.

Oil changes on .com are every 10,000 miles, and on .ca are every 8,000km (5,000 miles)

Brake service on .com is 30,000 miles, and on .ca is 32,000km (20,000 miles)

The climate between here and most of the states is very similar, do i really have to follow the .ca schedule? I've emailed Lexus.ca as well, awaiting their response.

Greg

You never HAVE TO follow the maintenance schedule. However, in the rare chance something would occur to your vehicle, say engine failure, Lexus could look at maintenance records as a way to determine how they will handle your claim. If it were me, I'd follow what my manual says, regardless of my location or proximity to the US.

Keep in mind also this service does not have to take place at a Lexus dealership. You just have to have very good records of any service not done at a Lexus dealership.

It is very strange to change the oil each 8.000km. 15.000 km is OK for most vehicles I guess.

in SG, the schedule is every 10,000KM and if you dont do it with the dealership, warranty will be voided. !

yup yup.Singapore. seems like only in the US where you can get such good level of support from the dealer but than again is logical as US is the biggest market for Lexus.

I think Lexus is looking at an average of the US verses an average of Canada. Which in that case the two countries have wildly different climates. About half of the US never sees snow in winter.

I do seem to remember Lexus recommending an earlier service schedule for those living in colder climates.
