5000k maintenance

why is lexus suggesting every 5000k maintenance for my rx350? been so use to taking my old car in every 3000k miles. is it the specs of the car? or was i dumb doing 3000k miles in the past?

3,000 is too frequent. Cars today (with synthetic oil) are good for at least 5K service intervals.

Do not beat yourself up for the past.

Some of the new MB go 10000 before service intervals. You just have to look at who was getting the money from all the 3000 mi service
