I spent part of the day trying to work through the VC on the GS, and I'm almost in disbelief at how primitive the system is. Especially the POI, climate & radio commands. For the POI commands, 4 out of 5 times all I got was that dang 'PARDON?' I even read straight out of the manual...and still it didn't understand. The audio VC is useless...all you can do is tell it which mode to be in..."radio", "Satellite Radio"....you cant tell it to change channels.

On my gf's Fusion...all you have to say is the name of a station on XM...i.e. '80's on 8' and shazaam! the radio changes to '80's on 8'.....or '102.7' and bam! there it is...you don't have to tell it to changes bands/modes, etc.....on her climate control all you have to say is "climate control"..."72 degrees" and WOOZZA it changes to 72 degrees.

To be fair, I'm going to schedule an appointment with the tech guy at the dealership and see if he knows something I don't...maybe I'm just missing something. I hope so.

 

I have the updated voice command module. The woman's voice is sexier than the standard one.

She says stuff like: "Turn right at the next street...would you like a back massage with that?"

And...

"Your destination is ahead on the left...can I interest you in a little nookie?"

There are other racier things she says, but I would get banned if I posted them. Use your imagination...

 

I'm guessing you didn't update it at a dealership. :P
