that's one hell of a close up. are your wheels chrome? it's kind of hard to tell where the damage is. can you move the cam back and then take the pic?

I curbed my wife's Mini Cooper. Five years and she never curbed it even once. Ugh. $130 later I had a newly powder coated wheel. You have to do it otherwise every time you walk by the car you'll look at it.

Did the same thing a few months ago. I touched it up with a black Magic Marker and can barely see it.

If it's not too late, Lexus sells a Tire & Wheel package that will probably pay for itself in time. With the high curbs and potholes in Dallas I've curbed many wheels and even hit a bump that annihilated a tire on my Audi. This time around I bought the package from Lexus. As I understand it, the Lexus package will even cover your other cars. My G/F drives the G live a race car, so every wheel has curb rash. I know it will be worth it.

does it really cover curbing? pretty sure it wouldn't cover that because thats your own fault.

My wife curbed both front and rear right wheels and the Lexus package covered it. Can't even tell there was damage.

But they will not cover chrome.

I never even realized Lexus offered that... thats a great thing to have piece of mind if that ever happens. To the OP, that's not a bad amount of curb rash, at least from what I can see. You can probably get some of the scratches out, but you might want to look into professional repair if it'll bother you.

the wheel and tire package is a must have. i have it, when i had the SP F Sport i backed into a curb at an angle and took a chunk of meat out of my tire. i went to Lexus that same day and they replaced it with a brand new tire. the wheel, depending on the damage will be replaced with a brand new one unless it's repairable, i.e. curb rash etc. it will be repaired and or replaced under the W&T Pckg. contract.

Yes, it is great. I figured if I paid for it I would probably never have a curbed wheel (Murphy's Law), but both my passenger side wheels are mildly curbed so it will end up paying for itself.

I moved from South Florida where the curbs are almost non-existent, to Dallas where the curbs are like 9" high, even in parking garages. It's almost impossible to miss them without driving like an old lady. I can only assume people run off the road a lot here and this is Dallas's version of the Lane Departure Warning System. Higher curbs are really the reason Texas wants to secede from the US!
