Default NEW Lexus Owner!!!

Hey guys. I just bought my first Lexus ever today-- 2013 GS 350 AWD F-sport!
Pearl White/Cabernet. Gorgeous combo, imo...

I've been looking for a second car for a while. I've driven a 911 for the last 2 1/2 years (997.2 C2S pdk), and I have nearly 40K miles on it already--even in the Michigan winters!

I test drove the S4, E350 4-matic, 335xi, 535xi, Cadillac ATS, and, of course, the Lexus. Honestly, it wasn't even close. The Lexus blew me away. (Quality-wise, it felt as though the Lexus should have been 20K more expensive than the BMW's). I know, I'm preaching to the choir...

Btw, the sleeper of the group is the new Cadillac ATS. A great little car, but somewhat overpriced.

Welcome to the group. Post up pictures when you get a chance. Do you have any plans for it yet?

Congratulations on your purchase. Really looking forward to drive my F-Sport AWD this winter. Nice to know there's another Hockey Guy on the forum besides me.

Congrats, and welcome to the 4GS family! I was also curious about the Cadillac ATS, but it sounds from your experience as though it doesn't really measure up to the GS in quality. I can't imagine anything being as striking as the Cabernet/Aluminum combo.

I did see one at the Cadillac dealer, and I was underwhelmed with the exterior styling. From the reviews I've read though, sounds like it's a fun ride!

Well, actually, the quality of the ATS was very good--espec. when compared to the cheep interior of the 3-series. But when the ATS 3.6 AWD stickers at $50K, it seems pretty steep, espec. compared to the GS which --at $5-10K more--is clearly A LOT more car......

Congratz,,, and welcome to the fam. We would love to see her so please post pics. Looked at the ATS recently and was not impressed at all. Was curious to see how the CUE worked, but after I closed the small trunk I lost interest.

I agree with you about the cheap interior of the 3 series.

I actually happen to like the looks of the exterior and find the ergonomics of the interior superior to the 5 series. And the 3 series handles a lot better than the 5 series.

The only let-down of the 3 series was the non-linear throttle response of the 335i engine(not too big a deal) and the really down-market interior (BIG PROBLEM). The interior looks good in photos until you sit in the car and touch and feel the interior -- feels flimsy and plasticky.

Truth be told, I was seriously tempted by the 335i Sport-line until the hands-on session : the handling was slightly less connected then the GS F-Sport and the interior is way off the high standards set by the GS.

I was also tempted by the 335 but the Lexus felt the better option for me. Congratulations and that's a beautiful combo.
