Default Weird noise from Engine

2015 GS350
208,000 KMS

My car has been making this weird noise (sounds like a pump that comes on and off). I have attached a video and it's been doing it for almost 2 years now. I have tried to bring it to the dealership as well as my mechanic and they were unable to hear the sound (for some annoying reason it refuses to do it whenever I'm there). I wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas. It only does it on idle and comes and goes. It really annoys me and honestly if anyone here can figure it out I'd truly be appreciative.

It does it the whole video and cuts off around 10/11 seconds. It was the best recording I could get so far but will try again if needed.

I see you already posted in that previous thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...g-issue-3.html

Also saw this post late last year: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1085...7114866152023/

I still have the issue intermittently on my '13 AWD with just a bit under 76k miles now. Only happens when in Park/Reverse/Drive while idling with foot on the brake. One member mentioned cleaning the MAF while another other mentioned a bad fuel rail.

The only help I can give is if you're taking it to the dealer and you're able to replicate it this way: I can reproduce the problem by having car sit for 30min to an hour for a cold start up, do not let it warm up more than 15-20 seconds and throw it into Drive. I can usually hear the drone/noise at that point.

I reposted as I figured that was an old thread. Honestly the facebook link you posted sounds exactly like the issue I'm talking about. From reading it I don't think they found a solution yet either. When it was at the dealer it ran for 30minutes and didn't do it once. So then I took it to my mechanic and he ran it for a good 30minutes too and didn't hear it. I'll probably show that video from facebook you posted to my mechanic next time I see him as that may help narrow down the problem. I appreciate your help.

It's honestly the most annoying issue in the world.

It is very annoying especially if you're sensitive to certain sounds or noises. The GS's cabin is fairly quiet so any intrusion of a vacuum type pulling, humming or drone is noticeable.

Is your noise more pronounced when the car is cold and you try to put it into gear before RPM's have dropped? I noticed if my RPMs aren't sitting at the "right" level yet as the computer and components are aligning on startup, sometimes the issue is very apparent and putting light throttle makes it go away entirely.

The noise is the same when the car is cold or warmed up. The noise will appear at idle and if you accelerate it goes away but then comes back at idle.

Mine started this about 6 months ago. I haven't had any luck figuring it out.

Could it be the vacuum pump?

The 1st issues that's mentioned in this video.

You mentioned it goes away when you accelerate and hear the sound at idle.

Sounds to me like something vacuum related since at idle you have the highest vacuum reading.

There's no knocking noise I doubt it's the vacuum pump but thank you anyhow. It sounds exactly like what AJLex posted (the facebook link).
